Note:
ASA of Metro Long Island  was absorbed into ASA of Southern New York in 1995, which is still in existence today. No information about their Champions are available anywhere.

Note-2:
Vince Scamardella was appointed as the first Commissioner of ASA New York State. Long Island Metro ASA was created by Vince in 1961. Dan Belcastro (previously Metro New York City's ASA Commissioner from 1951-1961) was appointed as the new Commissioner. He served for three years before leaving. When Dan left, Charlie Boscia was appointed to serve as Commissioner. Charlie held this position for five years. During his tenure, he appointed Jim "Sonny" Carmen to serve as his deputy for Suffolk County. When Charlie left in 1969, Sonny Carmen was named the new Metro Commissioner for Long Island. Sonny Carmen served Long Island Metro ASA as it's commissioner for more than 33 years before retiring his position in 1994. It was at this time that Metro Long Island ASA was dissolved and became District 8 of Southern New York ASA. Glen Payne, Southern New York Commissioner, appointed Bruce Weinthal as Commissioner for District 8, Long Island. Bruce served in this position until 2004. In November of 2004 Vin Donnelly became the new Commissioner for District 8 and still holds that position. As dedicated to Suffolk County, Long Island as Sonny Carmen was, Nassau County, Long Island also had a legendary person named Ed Dressler who formed the Nassau County Umpires Association in 1952 and was part of Long Island ASA Softball for over 50 years.
